Expression of Interest – Livestock & Beef Systems Experts
Gatsby Africa’s livestock programme is entering an exciting phase of growth and implementation. In partnership with private sector actors, we are supporting the testing and demonstration of secondary beef production models for finishing and fattening cattle that can improve the quality and quantity of beef produced, while ensuring pastoralist communities are linked to and benefit from emerging market opportunities.
Our work spans a broad range of technical and strategic areas, including infrastructure design, cattle sourcing and trader/aggregator relationships, feed and fodder production, feed formulation, water for livestock and irrigation, herd management, and access to offtake and meat markets. In parallel, we facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration to address systemic constraints in the livestock sector and explore pathways for scaling commercially viable secondary beef production models.
To support this growing portfolio, Gatsby is establishing a rolling pool of technical assistants and specialist consultants who can be engaged on an as-needed basis to provide high-quality advisory and implementation support across different workstreams. We are seeking experienced professionals with expertise in relevant livestock and agribusiness fields who can contribute flexible, on-demand technical assistance to our partners and programmes.
