Offer of veterinary and diagnostic services to aquaculture farms in East Africa: Stock management program

Deadline: 21 Jun 2024 Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Strong veterinary services, including diagnostic and surveillance capabilities, are important to any successful, competitive aquaculture industry. To effectively anticipate, mitigate and respond to disease threats, farms must have accessible and affordable pathways for diagnostic services.

Gatsby Africa aims to support the development of commercial veterinary and diagnostic services by building a pool of qualified, capable veterinarians that can serve the East African aquaculture industry while also establishing and improving local pathways for diagnostic services in East Africa.

As part of a larger technical assistance programme, and in collaboration with AquaVet Africa (AVA) and ACMS, veterinary and diagnostic services will be availed to participating farms, with the overall objective of stimulating and building commercial veterinary and diagnostic capabilities for aquaculture farms in East Africa.
